Retreats for Discerners

Retreats are a time of refreshment, clarity, and peace for men who are discerning.

Each year, two days of recollection are held for high school-aged teens, one in Advent and one in Lent, and two weekend retreats are held for those age 18 and older. One takes place during the Christmas season and the other is held in the spring.

Day of Recollection

This year, the Day of Recollection for High School Aged Discerners will take place on Saturday, December 3, at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul, 122 Ash Street in Lewiston. The day will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude with Mass at 4 p.m. and will include fraternity with other discerners and talks from diocesan priests and seminarians, who will share their vocation stories and experiences.

To register for the high school discerners event, please email Father Greg Dube, director of the Office of Vocations & Seminarians, at [email protected].

Discernment Retreat for Men (Over age 18)

A discernment retreat for men over 18 years of age who are discerning a vocation to the diocesan priesthood will be held from Friday, January 6, 2023 to Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Marie Joseph Spiritual Center, 10 Evans Road in Biddeford Pool.

More information will be forthcoming, but I ask you to keep this in mind as you look toward the Christmas season. These retreats are a wonderful opportunity for discerners to get to know each other, to pray together, to meet other diocesan priests, and to spend some time with Lord.
