Vocations Awareness Holy Hours - National Vocation Awareness Week

"National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 7-13, 2021 is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations." (USCCB) The Vocations Office of the Diocese of Portland is offering three (3) separate Holy Hour events across the state of Maine during National Vocation Awareness Week where the public are encouraged to attend and pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Whether you are discerning your own vocation or perhaps praying for someone else, all are welcome to join in praying for vocations in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Greg Dube, Vocations Director, will be leading the Holy Hour and offering a guided meditation provided by Vianney Vocations on vocational discernment. No pre-registration is required! Advent 2021 Events

High School Advent Day of Recollection - December 4, 2021

Jesus Christ is always at work in us to call us away from sin and towards eternal life. The account of the Call of Matthew provides a beautiful example of forsaking everything else in order to fully follow Christ. How can we strive to be more like Matthew in our everyday lives and in the discernment of our vocation? Join Fr. Greg Dube, Director of Vocations, and other priests from the Diocese of Portland to come together and pray with fellow discerners on Saturday, December 4 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brunswick from 10-5pm. Sponsored by the Office of Vocations, this event is for all Catholic high school-aged men who are striving to live out their faith and to follow God's will in their lives. Men's 18+ Christmas Discernment Retreat - January 7-9, 2022
