Prayer Opportunities

PORTLAND---From additional livestreams of private Masses to “drive-thru” confessions, many Maine priests and parishes have announced special opportunities for parishioners to connect as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts normal Mass and parish schedules. As events are confirmed, they will be added to the Diocese of Portland’s Coronavirus Response page at www.portlanddiocese.org/content/response-coronavirus.

“Drive-Thru” Confessions

Fr. Phil Tracy, pastor of the Parish of the Holy Eucharist in Falmouth, will offer the sacrament of reconciliation in a drive-thru format at Holy Martyrs Church on 266 Foreside Road in Falmouth on Saturdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. People can drive up with Fr. Tracy hearing confessions at a safe distance near the automobiles.

Fr. Paul Marquis will offer the sacrament of reconciliation in a drive-thru format in the parking lot of Sacred Heart Church on 326 Main Street in Yarmouth on Saturdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Fr. Seamus Griesbach, director of vocations for the Diocese of Portland, will offer the sacrament of reconciliation in a similar drive-thru format. He will announce the details on his new YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UCP9UgarC2xgypizJwqzUhJA).

Private Prayer

St. Joseph Church on 133 Middle Street in Farmington will be open for private prayer each day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

St. Rose of Lima Church on 1 Church Street in Jay will be open for private prayer each day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Holy Family Church on 429 Main Street in Old Town will be open for private prayer and adoration from 8 a.m. to 8 pm. for those who feel they need a place to pray and to be with Jesus in the Eucharist.

St. Athanasius & St. John Church on 126 Maine Avenue in Rumford will be open for private prayer and devotion Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chaplet of Divine Mercy

St. Michael Parish in Augusta will offer a live praying of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy on weekdays at 3 p.m. on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/StMichaelMaine).

Rosary

Fr. Marquis will pray the rosary each night at 9 p.m. on Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/paul.marquis.587).

Video Updates and Prayer Opportunities

Fr. Bill Labbe and Fr. Jack Dickinson of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford and St. Matthew Parish in Limerick will offer video content on Facebook (www.facebook.com/StThereseMaine).

Fr. Brad Morin of Good Shepherd Parish in Saco is periodically livestreaming prayer opportunities on his Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bradmorin222).
