What: Diocesan-wide dynamic, multi-faceted, formation opportunity for adult Catholics in Maine utilzing the online tools of Echoes of Faith Emmaus Edition (11 learning modules total). Click to see module descriptions. Adults complete the online segments on their own, participate in a local or regional small discipleship group with a faciliator  (in person or virtual) and diocesan opening and closing virtual gatherings for each learning module. The fee covers working through the material and practicing skills over 2 years.

Who: Any fully-initiated (baptized, confirmed, sharing in holy Communion) adult Catholic 18 years of age or older living in Maine who wants to deepen their own relationship with Christ, practice skills for sharing the faith with others, and support the Church's mission of evangelizing and catechesis. Especially suited for those who currently serve as catechists or teachers and leaders of any aspect of parish or Catholic school religious education and faith formation.

When: New modules start every one to two months in rotation scheduled through May 2024. Click to see full schedule of modules with available registration points (updated March 7, 2022)

How: Individuals will need to have internet access to participate in this program. While participants can use tablets or other smart devises, a computer works best with the online tools and video conferencing sessions. Paricipants may also use this program to work toward basic catechist certification (full Echoes of Faith program plus self-assessment and coaching from diocesan certification coordinator). All individuals will be assigned an online small group for discussion in the Echoes of Faith platfom . Some parishes also provide in-person small group sessions to work through the modules (talk with your local parish about this possibility).

Fee:The fee is $20/person for two years of access and community engagement ($300 value) with no additional fee for catechist certification ($500 value)
NOTE: Reduced cost to Maine adults made possible through contributions to the Catholic Appeal, a grant from the Lay Continuing Education and Formation Endowment with the Catholic Foundation of Maine, and the partnership of RCL Benziger.

Registration: registration is submitted online (click to see a preview of the online form). An individual may complete the form or a parish leader may complete the registration for an adult the parish is supporting in working toward catechist certification (recommend parish pays the registration fee for those pursuing catechist certification). Individual or parish will be invoiced once the person has started his/her first learning module.
