Coordinator of Children and Adult Ministries
Diocese of Portland

The Office of Lifelong Faith Formation seeks a coordinator of children and adult ministries who will plan, implement, and assess diocesan guidelines and best practices related to the ongoing catechesis for adults and children. This includes Circle of Grace safe environment training and immediate preparation and celebration of initiation sacraments. As part of a collaborative team, the coordinator will visit parishes and accompany parish leaders in developing and maintaining ministerial and professional competencies related to faithfully carrying out these ministries at the local level. Successful candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in catechesis, religious education or a related field, 3-5 years of experience in catechetical ministry and sacramental preparation in a parish setting, and be an active, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church with knowledge of the Roman Catholic theological tradition. Children’s Ministry Program Assistant
Cluster 22 Parishes in Scarborough, South Portland, and Cape Elizabeth

The parishes of Cluster 22 (St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough, St. Bartholomew Parish in Cape Elizabeth, and St. John and Holy Cross Parish in South Portland) seek a part-time children’s ministry program assistant to help develop and implement programs for young people (pre-kindergarten through eighth grade). General responsibilities include overseeing weekly faith formation sessions, assisting with sacramental preparation, and helping with special programs and events. This position will support Church and ministry leaders administratively and help convey their vision and priorities to the appropriate audiences. The successful candidate will be proficient on various social media platforms, able to maintain a website, and be able to create event posters and flyers. Music/Liturgy Coordinator
St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Sanford

St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford seeks a music/liturgy coordinator. This position is responsible for convening and leading a parish liturgy committee, planning all liturgical music, recruiting and training cantors and choirs, and working with other musicians and vocalists who provide music in the parish. This position will schedule all music for the Masses in the parish and play at least three Masses per weekend. The successful candidate will have a BFA (MA in liturgical music is preferred); proficiency in playing the organ and piano; experience directing choruses; and an understanding of the liturgical calendar and the rhythm of the Catholic liturgy. Keyboardist/Choir Director

The keyboardist/choir director will also play for weekly choir practice, holy days, and seasonal services throughout the church year. Opportunities for additional services are possible. Cemetery Worker
Calvary Cemetery, South Portland

The Diocese of Portland has an immediate need for a full-time cemetery worker. Responsibilities include keeping the grounds of the cemetery (lawn care and snow removal), assisting with burials, and helping visitors. Qualified candidates will have some experience with lawn care and maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
