Pentecost Events in Brewer, Ellsworth, Falmouth, Lincoln, Portland, and Yarmouth

In addition to their regular weekend Mass schedules, several Maine churches are planning special Pentecost celebrations:

Brewer
A youth Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa Church, located on 425 South Main Street in Brewer, on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, at 5:30 p.m.

Brunswick
All Saints Parish in Brunswick will hold a special Mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church on 132 McKeen Street. All are welcome at the Mass and a reception which will be held following the Mass in the church hall to welcome new members of the parish who were initiated into the faith during the Easter season.

Ellsworth
An extended Pentecost Vigil Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27, beginning at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Church on 231 Main Street. The Mass will be longer than usual because it will incorporate Evening Prayer and include more readings, psalms, and prayers. Following the Mass, there will be a potluck supper.

Lincoln
Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish will hold a special Pentecost Sunday celebration at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located on 1003 Main Street. The Mass will begin at 9 a.m.

Portland
Bishop Robert Deeley will celebrate Mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, at 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on 307 Congress Street in Portland. During the Mass, over 35 children will receive first Eucharist and the sacrament of confirmation.

Yarmouth
Fr. Steven Cartwright will celebrate the Great Vigil of Pentecost on Saturday, May 27, at 4 p.m. with a special extended Mass at 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, located on 326 Main Street. The Mass will be longer than usual to incorporate more readings, psalms, and prayers.
