Students at St. John’s in Brunswick Hit the Road with Messages of Thanks for Area Businesses and Organizations

BRUNSWICK---Students at St. John’s Catholic School in Brunswick celebrated Thanksgiving a little early this year, sharing their gratitude, thanks, and kindness with area businesses and organizations on Thursday, November 18 (additional pictures below).

“The students walked to the police station, fire station, the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, and several businesses nearby and decorated the outside of the buildings with messages of thanks,” said Shelly Wheeler, principal of St. John’s. “The signs all noted that the gratitude comes from St. John’s.”

The messages were written on turkey-shaped papers and cards of varying sizes. Some of the younger students really got into the spirit by “dressing” as turkeys.

“It’s always wonderful when the students get in the spirit and jump at the opportunity to give back to people and organizations that have given them so much,” said Wheeler.
