PORTLAND---The St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen and Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Food Pantry in Portland are both remaining open with slight adjustments.
The St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, located on 307 Congress Street, will offer bagged lunches and water to community members on Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Food Pantry, located on 80 Sherman Street, will distribute “grab and go” bags each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The bags will still provide items from all food groups.
The St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen continues the work of St. Vincent de Paul by feeding, clothing, and healing individuals and families in need, treating them with love and compassion. Clothing donations may be dropped off at the soup kitchen. Monetary donations may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 307 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101. The Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Food Pantry distributes close to 3,000 pounds of food each week. If you wish to donate to the pantry, checks made out to “SH/SD Food Pantry” or food items can be dropped off at the food pantry on Tuesdays between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. You may also send financial contributions to the Pastoral Center at 307 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101.
