Freewill Collection for Care Net of Mid-Coast Maine to Be Held at Screening

BRUNSWICK---A free showing of the movie Unplanned will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 9:30 a.m. at the Regal Cinemas on 19 Gurnet Road in Brunswick. All are welcome to attend.

Though admission is free, a freewill collection will be held to benefit Care Net of Mid-Coast Maine, a pregnancy help center in Brunswick that provides support and encouragement to women in need.

The Diocese of Portland encourages all people, whether pro-life or pro-choice, to attend a viewing of this movie which is currently showing in theaters across the country.

The movie tells the story of Abby Johnson, who was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood directors in the country. Her passion surrounding a woman's right to choose led her to become a spokesperson for the organization until the day she saw something that changed everything. After she was asked to assist in an abortion at 13 weeks gestation, she resigned and became a pro-life activist, founding a ministry to assist former Planned Parenthood employees who turned against abortion after similar experiences.
