All are welcome to attend the Matthew 25:35 meals at the parish hall of St. Ignatius, located on 25 Riverside Avenue in Sanford, on the second Tuesday of each month. The next free meal is set for January 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The dinners are hosted by teens from Holy Spirit Parish in Wells and Kennebunk and St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. Offering the monthly meals is a way to teach the teens about the importance of service, particularly the Bible verse Matthew 25:35 (“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me”). If you have socks, hats, mittens, or gloves that you can donate, organizers will ensure they go to attendees who are in need. All sizes from kids to adults are welcome. Bins for donations are located at Holy Family Church in Sanford, Notre Dame Church in Springvale, and St. Martha Church in Kennebunk.
