Bishop Deeley's Ad Limina Visit to Rome

Bishop Deeley is currently wrapping up an “ad limina apostolorum” visit to Pope Francis at the Vatican. All bishops are required to travel to Rome to visit with the Holy Father and report on the state of their dioceses as well as make a pilgrimage to “the threshold of the apostles,” giving the bishops, who are the successors of the apostles, the opportunity to pray at the tombs of St. Peter and St. Paul. In these pictures, Bishop Deeley is seen during Mass at St. Paul's Basilica; on the way to meetings with Bishop Edgar Moreira da Cunha, S.D.V., of the Diocese of Fall River; and praying at the tomb of St. Paul.
