FREEPORT---The schedule of events on the 4th of July in Freeport is packed with an assortment of fun activities for people of all ages.
But the annual gathering that kicks off the Independence Day festivities in the town can be found right at St. Jude Church on the corner of Main and School Streets.
The 27th annual St. Jude 4th of July All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. A dedicated committee, volunteers, and generous donations from parishioners have enabled the breakfast to become a Freeport tradition. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children (12 and under). The proceeds will benefit many community programs and local charities.
The breakfast precedes an amazing list of events at which all are welcome, including the L.L. Bean 4th of July 10K and Family Fun Run/Walk (throughout the morning); the 4th of July Parade down Main Street (10 a.m.); the Red, White & Brew celebration at Stars & Stripes Brewing Company on Varney Road (noon to 9 p.m.); a seacoast tour for the town’s fireworks at Town Wharf (8 p.m. to 10 p.m.); and the town’s magnificent fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. from behind the L.L. Bean campus on Main Street.
