Christmas Fairs 2019

Many parishes and schools around the diocese are holding Harvest or Christmas fairs during the months of October, November, and December. They are a wonderful opportunity to join with other members of the community, as we prepare for Advent and Christmas, and they are valuable fundraisers that help support many church ministries.

Below you will find a list of fairs around the Diocese of Portland. You are invited to visit any of them.  To quickly find a fair near you, tap or click on any of the town names below.

OCTOBER 2019

October 25

St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish Harvest Fair, Sanford

St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish Harvest Fair The annual St ,Thérèse of Lisieux Parish Harvest Fair will be held Friday October 25, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, October 27, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Gym, 25 Riverside Avenue in Sanford. The fair will begin with the popular Turkey Dinner on Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Breakfast and lunch will be available on Saturday and Sunday, including the famous homemade pork pies. The fair will also feature a cash raffle, a penny raffle with more than 60 items, a jewelry table, baked goods and candy, the ever-popular cookie walk, Christmas decorations, books, supervised children’s games (so parents can shop), and gently used items, with lots of treasures. October 26

St. Philip Church Harvest Fair, Lyman

St. Philip Church, 404 Goodwins Mills Road in Lyman, will hold its annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, October 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature beautiful, homemade wooden and knitted crafts, seasonal floral arrangements, homemade baked goods, and penny raffle items. There will also be treasure chest areas for children and adults and a kitchen concession area.  In addition, fairgoers are eligible to win a $100 door prize.

November 2

Bells of St. Mary's Christmas Craft Fair, Bath

The Bells of St. Mary’s Christmas Craft Fair and café will be held Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 144 Lincoln Street in Bath. The fair features handmade items, a silent auction, a cookie walk, and a visit from Santa around noon. The café will serve breakfast and lunch including chowder.

St. Anthony of Padua Parish Holiday Fair, Westbrook

The St. Anthony of Padua Parish Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 3, 8 a.m. to noon.  The fair will feature baked goods, a white elephant table, knits, jewelry, books and puzzles, kids’ games, a penny raffle, and lots of food.  The fair will be held in the parish hall at 268 Brown Street in Westbrook.  Use the rear entrance in the lower parking lot.

St. Charles Borromeo Christmas Fair, Brunswick

The Christmas fair at St. Charles Borromeo Church of All Saints Parish will be held Saturday, November 2, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church hall at 132 McKeen Street in Brunswick.  The fair will feature an array of baked goods, doll clothes, crafts, knits, tree ornaments, plants, candies, jewelry, religious items, and antique treasures, along with a children’s Christmas shop.  The café will be open for breakfast and lunch, serving haddock chowder, beef stew, sandwiches, and pumpkin and apple pie.  There will also be raffles with a top prize of $1,000.

St. Dominic Academy Holiday Festival

The Saint Dominic Academy Holiday Festival will be held on the Auburn campus of the school, located on 121 Gracelawn Avenue, on Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will include over 80 local artisans and vendors, a bake sale, children’s games, raffles, and the opportunity to visit Santa. A festival kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch and will feature lobster rolls and chicken pot pie

November 3

St. Anthony of Padua Parish Holiday Fair, Westbrook

The St. Anthony of Padua Parish Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 3, 8 a.m. to noon.  The fair will feature baked goods, a white elephant table, knits, jewelry, books and puzzles, kids’ games, a penny raffle, and lots of food.  The fair will be held in the parish hall at 268 Brown Street in Westbrook.  Use the rear entrance in the lower parking lot.

An extensive penny auction, crafts, knitted items, pork pies, haddock chowder, and baked goods will all be featured at the Good Shepherd Parish Christmas Fair, which will be held November 8-10 in the St. Joseph Church Hall, 178 Elm Street in Biddeford. The fair will also include live and silent auctions, a children’s area, games of chance, raffles, and concessions.  Fair hours are Friday 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

November 9

Buon Natale Christmas Fair, Portland

St. Peter’s Sacred Heart Sodality invites you to its Buon Natale Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 9, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Monsignor DiMingo Hall next to St. Peter Church on 72 Federal St. in Portland. The fair features Italian treats, crafts, jewelry, and more!

Good Shepherd Parish Christmas Fair, Biddeford

An extensive penny auction, crafts, knitted items, pork pies, haddock chowder, and baked goods will all be featured at the Good Shepherd Parish Christmas Fair, which will be held November 8-10 in the St. Joseph Church Hall, 178 Elm Street in Biddeford. Holy Spirit Parish Fair, Kennebunk

The 23rd annual Holy Spirit Parish Fair will be held at St. Martha Church, 34 Portland Rd. (Route One) in Kennebunk on Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair is a seacoast destination event featuring more than 20,000 items. Tables include jewelry, books, Christmas items, homemade candy and baked goods, linens, and much more! There will also be a raffle and a giant penny auction, and Saint Martha’s Knights of Columbus will offer sandwiches and refreshments. FMI: www.holyspiritme.org.

Ladies of St. Bernard Christmas Fair, Rockland

The Ladies of St. Bernard will present their annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 9, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Bernard Church, 150 Broadway in Rockland. The fair features jewelry, books, plants, Christmas decorations, homemade jams and baked goods, and a white elephant table. Proceeds from the fair go towards college scholarships.

Ladies Sodality of St. James Fall Bazaar, Calais

The Ladies Sodality of St. James will hold their fall bazaar in the American Legion Hall on Main Steet in Calais.  The fair, which will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with feature crafts, a food sale, a quilt raffle, and a Christmas tree raffle.

Lavallee Youth Ministry Holiday Craft Fair, Madawaska

Lavallee youth ministry will present a holiday craft fair at St. David Church, 774 Main Street in Madawaska. Enjoy beans and franks on Saturday and chicken sew and ployes on Sunday.  Baked goods will also be for sale.

Our Lady of Hope Christmas Bazaar and Tree Festival, Portland

Our Lady of Hope Parish in Portland will hold its Christmas Bazaar and Tree Festival on Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the hall at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland. The fair will feature crafts, jewelry, children's activities, the Big Wheel, raffles, and homemade lobster rolls, lobster stew, meatball sandwiches, and more.  Also take a chance at winning a tree decorated by local businesses and organizations.

Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair, Sabattus

Visit the Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Maxwell-Gill Hall, 131 High Street, Sabattus. The fair features a basket raffle, baked goods, and crafts. Members of the youth ministry group "Called" will staff the kitchen for a pancake breakfast and for lunch.

Our Lady of the Snows Parish Christms Fair, Dexter

The Our Lady of the Snows Parish Christmas fair will be held Saturday, November 9, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dexter.

Red Sleigh Bazaar, Old Town

The Red Sleigh Bazaar will be held November 9, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the parish hall at Holy Family Church in Old Town. Fill your sleigh with gifts for yourself and everyone on your list. Browse the knit table or the regifting booth for surprising treasures. Take home baked beans and biscuits and maybe a sack of cookies, along with fudge and warm, homemade donuts, or enjoy a bowl of soup or chowder from the soup buffet. And you can take a chance at winning beautiful, themed sleighs crafted to get you in the holiday spirit.

St. Louis Parish Christmas Fair, Portland

St. Louis Parish’s Christmas fair will be held Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall at 279 Danforth Street in Portland. The fair features knitted and crocheted items, crafts, jewelry, baked goods, Polish foods, Christmas decorations, a "Polish" raffle, Val's Corner with candy wreaths, and much more.

St. Mary of the Visitation Christmas Fair, Houlton

St. Mary of the Visitation Parish’s Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, November 9, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parish hall, 112 Military Street in Houlton. Shop for hand-knitted items, jewelry, photography, and more. Also enjoy lunch and refreshments.

St. Raphael Holiday Fair, Kittery

Saint Raphael Church of the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord in Kittery will hold its Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 9, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The fair, held in the church hall on Whipple Road in Kittery, will feature beautiful themed gift baskets, terrific raffles, handcrafted items, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, gently used jewelry, houseplants, and great food at the café. Browse and enjoy and maybe find a great treasure. 

November 10

November 16

Holy Family Parish Fall Fair, Greenville

The Holy Family Parish Fall Fair will be held Saturday, November 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hall of Holy Family Church, 145 Pritham Avenue in Greenville.   There will be a food and fudge table, a craft table with knitted items, a "White Reindeer" table, a craft table for kids with ornament making, and cookie decorating. Coffee and muffins will be available in the morning, followed by lunch.

Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart Christmas Fair, Hallowell

The Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart Church will hold its annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Church Hall on Summer Street in Hallowell. The fair features homemade baked goods, candy, gifts, and a white elephant table.  Returning this year will be the “Jewelry Corner.”  There will also be a raffle featuring gift certificates from restaurants, gas gift cards, and a collectible doll, along with a 50/50 raffle.  The café will offer reasonably priced food including lobster and chicken salad rolls, hot dog plates, and haddock chowder.

St. Anne Home for the Holidays Christmas Fair, Gorham

St. Anne Parish will hold its annual Home for the Holidays Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m.  The fair will feature a silent auction, raffle baskets, a greens table, and more.

November 22

Midcoast Tree Festival, Brunswick

All Saints Parish and St. John's Catholic School are partnering with Spectrum Generations and Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber for the first Midcoast Tree Festival on November 22-24 and November 29-December 1 at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. The festival will feature themed, artificial Christmas trees, which local businesses will adorn with lights, decorations, and gifts worth at least $500. The trees will be raffled off at the festival’s conclusion. Admission is $2 for adults, with no charge for children age 12 and younger. There will also be live entertainment, a children’s activity area, visits by Santa and Mrs. Claus, 50/50 raffles, and a café. Christmas by the Lake, Auburn

The 45th Annual Christmas by the Lake Fair at St. Philip Church, 2365 Turner Rd. in Auburn, will be held on Saturday, November 23, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Known as one of the premier fairs in the area, booths include wreaths/greens, arts and crafts, a country store, a bakery, popcorn, gift baskets, hidden treasures, jewelry/accessories, knits, quilting/sewing, woodcrafts, books and a candy shoppe.  There is also a silent auction, raffles and lunch featuring baked beans, coleslaw, and brown bread.

Holy Savior Parish Christmas Fair, Rumford

Holy Savior Parish will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 23, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m, in the hall of St. Athanasius & St. John Church, 126 Maine Street in Rumford.  The fair will include raffles, crafts, baked goods, Christmas treasures, paint and take, a photo booth, children's stories and crafts, a children's game corner, a turkey luncheon, plus a visit from Santa.

Midcoast Tree Festival, Brunswick

St. Paul the Apostle Parish Christmas Fair, Brewer

The St. Paul the Apostle Parish Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, November 23, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 531 North Main St. in Brewer.  The fair features Christmas wreaths, crafts, fudge, baked goods, Christmas decorations, children’s toys, white elephant tables, basket raffles, and more!  A lunch of homemade chicken pie and hot fudge brownie sundaes will be served. FMI: www.stpaulbangor.me or call 207.217.6740.

Shamrocks of St. Patrick Church, Newcastle

The Shamrocks of St. Patrick Church of All Saints Parish invite you to join them for their annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Crafters and artists from around Maine as well as the Shamrock crafters have been busy preparing a wide array of unique and delightful items that will make perfect Christmas gifts or home decorations.  There will be handknitted and crocheted items, fabric gifts, wall hangings, ornaments, jewelry, religious items, plants, and a regifting table. The Shamrock Café will be open for a warm lunch and the famous “From Our Ovens” bake table will offer homemade treats.  The fair will be in Cheverus Hall at the church at 380 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle.

St. Rose of Lima Parish Christmas Fair, Jay

The St. Rose of Lima Parish Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, November 23, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will include crafts, baked goods, candy and fudge, a cookie walk, and a raffle corner with approximately 75 items.   Lunch includes chicken pot pies, fish chowder, and more.  Proceeds from the fair with benefit Parish Social Ministry.

St. Christopher Holiday Faire, York

The St. Christopher Holiday Faire, held Saturday, November 23, has something for everyone. The greens table features wreaths with beautiful bows, while the Made in Maine table is full of handcrafted items. Browse the popular “All Things Christmas” booth, the special gift shoppe, and the jewelry booth. Then, enjoy some treats at the baked goods table. There is also a kids’ room, so children can shop, and a café featuring lobster rolls, chowder, hot dogs, and hamburgers.  The fair also includes a raffle with 100 themed baskets, a silent auction, and a live auction featuring items such as a paddleboard, Red Sox and Celtics tickets, and getaway packages. The fair runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Christopher Church, 4 Barrell Lane in York.

St. Matthew Church, 19 Dora Lane in Limerick, will holds its 1st Craft Fair on November 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

December 1

Our Lady of the Angels Penny Sale Fair, Berwick

December 6

Holy Cross School Christmas Fair, South Portland

Holy Cross School’s annual Christmas fair will be held on Friday, December 6, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, December 7, 10 a.m. go 4 p.m. in the school gymnasium at 436 Broadway in South Portland.  The fair features a Lobster Sack Lunch with deliveries for orders of six or more.

St. John's Regional Catholic School Christmas Fair, Winslow

St. John’s Regional Catholic School, 15 South Garand St. in Winslow, will hold its Christmas fair on Friday, December 6, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., culminating with a live auction.  The fair will feature tourtierre and chicken pies, baked goods, handknitted items, handmade crafts, and more. The Knights of Columbus will hold offer a Friday supper and Saturday lunch.

December 7

Cheverus Holiday Fair, Portland

The Cheverus Holiday Craft Fair, featuring handmade crafts, products from area vendors, a bake sale, and lunch, will be held Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school on 267 Ocean Avenue in Portland. FMI: craftfair.cheverus.org.

Holy Cross School Christmas Fair, South Portland

Holy Cross School’s annual Christmas fair will be held on Friday, December 6, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, December 7, 10 a.m. go 4 p.m. in the school gymnasium at 436 Broadway in South Portland.  The fair features a Lobster Sack Lunch with deliveries for orders of six or more.

Made in Maine Christmas Fair, Windham

The “Made in Maine” Christmas fair will be held Saturday, December 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p .m. and Sunday, December 8, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail in Windham. Many volunteers have been hard at work handcrafting items. There will also be themed baskets and raffles including one for a quilt made with antique Dresden Plate squares modified for today’s wear. There will also be jewelry, a gently used gift area, the Christmas Shoppe, homemade baked goods, a children’s buying area, and a children’s activity corner. Sacred Heart Church Fair, Yarmouth

The Parish of the Holy Eucharist will present the Sacred Heart Church Fair on Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the church hall at 326 Main St. in Yarmouth. The fair will feature baked goods, wall art, knitted and sewn items, greenery, and an accessory table filled with jewelry, purses, belts, and more. There will also be a silent auction and a luncheon featuring lobster meat and lobster rolls.

St. Ann Church Christmas Fair, Bradley

The Christmas Fair at St. Ann Church in Bradley will be held Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Stop by to have lunch and check out the fair's many offerings for the Christmas season.

St. John’s Catholic School Christmas Craft Show, Brunswick 

The St. John’s School 46th annual Christmas Craft Show will be held December 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and December 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the St. John’s Community Center, 43 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. The craft show features more than 30 juried artisans, an appearance by Santa, and delicious food and baked goods.  Shop for original gifts, art, jewelry, and holiday décor, as well as items for the home and garden.  Proceeds benefit St. John’s Catholic School in Brunswick.

St. John's Regional Catholic School Christmas Fair, Winslow

St. John’s Regional Catholic School, 15 South Garand St. in Winslow, will hold its Christmas fair on Friday, December 6, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., culminating with a live auction.  The fair will feature tourtierre and chicken pies, baked goods, handknitted items, handmade crafts, and more. The Knights of Columbus will hold offer a Friday supper and Saturday lunch.

St. Michael's School Christmas Fair, Augusta

St. Michael School’s Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the school gymnasium at 56 Sewall St. in Augusta. The school expects to have more than 20 vendors, along with baked goods, raffles, food, and a visit from Santa.

Holy Redeemer Church, Bar Harbor

Holy Redeemer Church, located on 56 Mount Desert Street in Bar Harbor, will host a Christmas fair and bake sale in the parish hall on December 7-8. The fair will be open on Saturday, December 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Sunday, December 8, after the 10 a.m. Mass.
