Christmas Fairs 2018

Many parishes and schools around the diocese are holding Harvest or Christmas fairs during the months of October, November, and December.  They are a wonderful opportunity to join with other members of the community, as we prepare for Advent and Christmas, and they are valuable fundraisers that help support many church ministries.

Below you will find a list of fairs around the Diocese of Portland. You are invited to visit any of them.

October 26

St. Ignatius Gymnasium, Sanford

The annual St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish Fair will be held Friday, October 26, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, October 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  at the St. Ignatius Gym on Riverside Ave. in Sanford. The fair begins on Friday evening with a turkey dinner with all the fixings. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under age 12.  Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday (a la carte) starts at 8:30 a.m. with lunch beginning at 11 a.m. The fair also features knitted goods, homemade preserves, jewelry, Christmas decorations, books, a cookie walk, gently used household items, raffle prizes, and more.  There will also be supervised children's games to give parents time to shop while the kids have fun. FMI: Frank or Jean Pease at 207-324-7512 or 207-604-4500.

October 27

St. Philip Church, 404 Goodwins Mills Road (Route 35), Lyman, will hold its annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, October 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, October 28, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  There will be a $100 door prize, handmade wooden and knitted crafts, a penny raffle table, adult and children treasure chests, American Girl Doll clothes, and food from the kitchen.  The chair is accessible to those with disabilities.

October 28

November 2

November 3

Knights of Columbus Hall, Dexter

The Our Lady of the Snows Annual Christmas Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, November 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dexter.  The fair is a fundraiser to benefit the parish. The hall is located at 533 North Dexter Road in Dexter.

St. Bernard Church, Rockland

A Christmas fair will be held at St. Bernard Church, 150 Broadway in Rockland, on Saturday, November 3, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair features Christmas decorations, jewelry, white elephant items, books, crafts, handiwork, toys, baked goods, fudge, and jams & jellies.   Food will also be served at the lunch café.

St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brunswick

St. Charles Borromeo Church of All Saints Parish will hold its Christmas fair on Saturday, November 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the church hall at 132 McKeen St. in Brunswick.  The fair will include raffle prizes of $1,000, $500, and more, plus tables full of homemade items such as candles, cookies, crafts, doll clothes, jewelry, knitted goods, toys, and ornaments.  There will also be a children’s area for making crafts and shopping. The Coffee Corner opens at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast, and haddock chowder, sandwiches, and homemade apple and pumpkin pie will be on the luncheon menu.

St. Dominic Academy, Auburn

Saint Dominic Academy will host its 13th annual Holiday Festival on the middle/high school campus, 121 Gracelawn Road in Auburn on Saturday, November 3, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will feature local crafters and vendors, raffle tables, delicious baked goods, a 50/50 raffle, children's games, a used book sale, and a visit for Santa. A full breakfast and lunch menu will be available in the Café.

St. Hyacinth Church, Westbrook

St. Raphael Church, Kittery

Saint Raphael Church of the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord will hold its Fall into Winter annual bazaar on Saturday, November 3, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair, held in the church hall at 6 Whipple Rd. in Kittery, will feature beautiful gift baskets, a nearly new resale boutique, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, handcrafted items, many terrific raffles, and great food at the Café. Admission is free.  

November 4

St. Hyacinth Church, Westbrook

St. Joseph Convent, Biddeford

The Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec will hold their annual Christmas Fair, beginning on November 5, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at St. Joseph Convent, 409 Pool St, Biddeford. Most items were handcrafted by the sisters. The fair benefits the sisters' missionary work.

November 9

St. Joseph Church, Biddeford

Good Shepherd Parish will hold its Christmas fair on Friday, November 9, 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the St. Joseph Church Hall, 178 Elm St. in Biddeford. The fair will feature an extensive penny auction, plus books, crafts, knitted goods, baked goods from Grandma’s Kitchen, a “New to You” table, a children’s area, a major raffle, and more. There will be haddock chowder on Friday and other great food throughout the weekend.

November 10

Holy Family Church Hall, Old Town

The Red Sleigh Bazaar will be held in the hall of Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street in Old Town, on Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fill your sleigh with gifts for yourself and everyone on your list.  browse the regifting booth for surprising treasures.  Take home baked beans and biscuits and maybe a sack of cookies.  Enjoy fudge, baked goods, and homemade doughnuts. There will be a chance to win beautiful, themed sleighs crafted to put you in the holiday spirit.

Maine Irish Heritage Center, Portland

Sacred Heart / St. Dominic Parish will be selling knitted and crocheted items, crafts, photography and paintings at its booth at the Irish Heritage Center fair on Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church will also have raffle baskets including "Passionate for Pasta" and "Christmas Dreams."  The Maine Irish Heritage Center is located at the intersection of Gray & State Streets in Portland.

Maxwell-Gill Hall of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Sabattus

Do you miss the days of folks coming together to enjoy some good food, baked goodies, and homemade crafts, amid the sound of Christmas carols and the smell of balsam fir?  At the Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair, you find all that and more!  The fair will feature its famous lobster rolls, raffles, and 19 tables of local crafters/vendors including Scentsy, Christmas ornaments, knitted items, hand-painted gifts, and more.  You can take your chance on the 50/50 raffle or one of many specially prepared themed baskets.  The fair will be open Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maxwell-Gill Hall, 131 High Street in Sabattus.  Santa will be there smiling for the camera from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free photo ops.  

Sacred Heart Church Hall, Hallowell

The Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart Church will hold its annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Church Hall on Summer Street in Hallowell. The fair features homemade baked goods, candy, gifts, and a white elephant table.  Returning this year will be the “Jewelry Corner.”  There will also be a raffle featuring gift certificates from restaurants, gas gift cards, and a collectible doll, along with a 50/50 raffle.  The café will offer reasonably priced food including lobster and chicken salad rolls, hot dog plates, and haddock chowder.

St. Joseph Church, Biddeford

St. Louis Church, Portland

St. Louis Polish Church will hold its annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall at 279 Danforth Street in Portland.  The fair will feature knitted and crocheted items including hats, scarves, and mittens, arts & crafts, jewelry, eco-friendly items, baked goods, Polish foods, Christmas tree decorations, a "Polish" raffle, Val's Corner with candy wreaths, and much more.

St. Martha Church, Kennebunk

The 21st annual Holy Spirit Parish Fair will be held at St. Martha Church, 34 Portland Road (Route One) in Kennebunk on Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair is a seacoast destination event featuring more than 20,000 items. There will be a $1,000 raffle and a giant penny auction. Tables include jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, Christmas items, linens, dishes, crystal, homemade candy and baked goods. Saint Martha’s Knights of Columbus will also offer sandwiches and refreshments. FMI: www.holyspiritme.org.

St. Peter Church, Portland

St. Peter’s Sacred Heart Sodality invites you to its Buon Natale Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 10, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Monsignor DiMingo Hall next to St. Peter Church on 72 Federal St. in Portland. The fair features Italian cookies and other treats, crafts, jewelry, and more!

St. Pius X Church, Portland

Our Lady of Hope Parish will hold its Christmas Bazaar and Tree Festival on Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave. in Portland.  The fair will feature the Big Wheel, crafts, jewelry, raffle prizes, and children’s activities.  Also enjoy homemade lobster rolls, lobster stew, meatball sandwiches, pizza, items from the bakery, and more.

November 11

St. Joseph Church, Biddeford

November 17

St. Anne Church, Gorham

St. Anne Parish in Gorham will hold its “Home for the Holidays” Christmas Fair on Saturday November 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The fair features a light breakfast, lunch including haddock chowder and chili, homemade crafts and knitted items, jewelry, raffles, Gramma’s Attic, baked goods, wreaths, kids’ games, and more.  There will also be a pulled pork and baked bean dinner at 5 p.m.

St. Christopher Church, York

The 51st annual St. Christopher’s Church Holiday Faire will be held on Saturday, November 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall at 4 Barrell Lane in York. The faire features Made in Maine crafts, fresh greens, an “All Things Christmas” booth, the Gift Shoppe, jewelry & accessories, baked goods, a children’s room, a thrift shop, a themed basket raffle, a $200 money tree raffle, a lottery ticket raffle, a cash raffle, an Irish knit Afghan raffle, a silent auction, and a café featuring lobster rolls and chowder.  A live auction begins at 2 p.m. FMI: Rose Cronin at Jcronin2@maine.rr.com or Ellen Pelkey at pelkeye@sbcglobal.net.

St. Joseph Church, Brewer

St. Paul the Apostle Parish’s Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, November 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at St. Joseph Church, 531 North Main St., Brewer.  The fair features Christmas wreaths, crafts, fudge, baked goods, Christmas decorations, toys, a white elephant table, basket raffles, and more!  A lunch of homemade chicken pie and hot fudge brownie sundaes will be served.  FMI: www.stpaulbangor.me or 207.217.6740.

St. Patrick Church, Newcastle

St. Patrick Church of All Saints Parish will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 17, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Cheverus Hall, 380 Academy Hill Rd. in Newcastle. The talented crafters of St. Patrick’s Shamrocks have been busy designing some unique and fanciful items to decorate your home this Christmas season.  Stop by the “From Our Hands” table for beautiful creations made from natural materials available in this area. Other area crafters will also have items for sale. The Shamrock Café will be open for lunch, and the “From our Ovens” table will be stocked with homemade treats.

St. Philip Church, Auburn

The annual Christmas by the Lake Fair will be held on Saturday, November 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Philip Church, 2365 Turner Road in Auburn. The fair features handmade wreaths, wood crafts, baked goods, a beautiful quilt made by parishioners, and more!  Lunch is also available.

November 25

Noble Middle School, Berwick (Presented by Our Lady of the Angels Church)

The Our Lady of the Angels Penny Sale Fair will be held Sunday, November 25, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Noble Middle School, 46 Cranberry Meadow Rd., Berwick.  The fair features more than 200 penny sale drawings, raffles, themed baskets, and a live auction, along with food and beverages, such as homemade chowder, sandwiches, and desserts.  

November 30

Holy Cross School, South Portland

Holy Cross School in South Portland will hold its Christmas Fair on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The fair will include a lobster lunch, raffles, and student caroling.

December 1

Cheverus High School, Portland

Cheverus High School will hold its Christmas Craft Fair and Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale on Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, located on 267 Ocean Avenue in Portland. There will be unique holiday crafts, fresh Maine-grown trees, and Christmas spirit galore, complete with Santa and his elf! Proceeds will benefit Cheverus High School's Immersion and Service Programs. 

Holy Cross School, South Portland

Holy Cross School in South Portland will hold its Christmas Fair on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The fair will include a lobster lunch, raffles, and student caroling.

Holy Family Church, Greenville

The Holy Family Parish Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, December 1, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hall of Holy Family Church, 145 Pritham Avenue in Greenville.   There will be a food and fudge table, a craft table with knitted items, a "White Reindeer" table, and cookie decorating for kids. Also enjoy coffee and Mrs. Claus cookies in the morning.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Windham

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 919 Roosevelt Trail in Windham, will hold its Made in Maine Christmas Fair on December 1, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and December 2, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., during which you can also enjoy a Sunday brunch. The fair will feature handmade items, themed baskets, a Christmas shop, homemade baked goods, and raffles to win a handmade quilt, a wooden rocking horse, a Thomas Kinkaid picture, and other items.   There is also a children’s buying corner and activity corner, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus will stop by on Saturday.

Our Lady of Ransom Church, Mechanic Falls

The Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Ransom Church in Mechanic Falls is pleased to announce their annual Craft Fair at the new and expansive Father John Dougher Hall, Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to a variety of holiday crafts, the fair will feature basket raffles, a bake sale, and a light luncheon. With the larger hall, there will be more room for additional tables this year! We welcome any crafters who would like to participate. Contact Josie at 207-345-3274 for more information. The cost of a table is $20 in advance and not refundable. All proceeds will benefit the church and community.

St. Ann Church, Bradley

A Christmas fair will be held at St. Ann Church, 84 Main Street in Bradley, on Saturday, December 1, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature pies in many flavors, cakes & cookies, jams & jellies, pickles, fudge and candy, and many more treats.

December 2

St. John Regional Catholic School, Winslow

A Christmas fair will be held at St. John Regional Catholic School, 15 South Garand Street in Winslow, on Saturday, December 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
