Statement from Bishop Deeley on the Passing of Mother Mary Angelica

“On Easter Sunday, Mother Mary Angelica, a woman of great faith, generosity, and vision, was called home by the Lord she so faithfully served during her 92 years. Mother Angelica understood the extraordinary opportunities that television and radio offered as tools for evangelization. Guided by God, she persevered when faced with difficulty and skepticism to establish the Eternal Word Television Network, which has brought countless people to the faith and enhanced relationships with God and the Church for thousands more. Her service and grace will be felt by the generations to come. We commend Mother Angelica to the Lord and pray for the repose of her soul and the consolation of her family, the sisters of the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, her friends, and those forever changed by her contributions. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.”
