Sacred Heart Eucharistic Adoration Chapel Temporarily Moving from Brunswick to Bath

BATH---The Sacred Heart Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, which has been housed at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick, will temporarily move to St. Mary Church, located on 144 Lincoln Street in Bath.

The cause for the relocation is the massive project underway at the St. John campus on Pleasant Street in Brunswick as a new multi-purpose facility (design below) is being constructed. The facility will be approximately 15,000 square feet and will include a large open space that will serve as an auditorium, gymnasium, and cafeteria. The facility will also include a kitchen, a stage, a music room, a meeting room, and the new Sacred Heart Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

The new permanent home of the chapel in Brunswick is scheduled to be opened in December of 2018. In the interim, the chapel can be found in the lower level of St. Mary Church where adoration will resume starting on Sunday, January 7, at 5 p.m.

The chapel is open nearly 100 hours each week. During adoration, a consecrated host, the real presence of Jesus Christ, is left exposed on the altar in a holder called a monstrance. Although it is not necessary to have the host exposed for adoration to take place, those who participate say it adds to the feeling of closeness to Christ. The chapel always welcomes new adorers. Current participants come from nearly all seven of All Saints Parish’s churches.
