Christmas Fairs 2017

Many parishes and schools around the diocese are holding Christmas fairs during the months of November and December.  They are a wonderful opportunity to join with other members of the community, as we prepare for Advent and Christmas, and they are valuable fundraisers that help support many church ministries.

Below you will find a list of fairs around the Diocese of Portland. You are invited to visit any of them.

October 27

St. Ignatius Gym, Sanford
St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish will hold its annual fair on October 27-29 in the St. Ignatius gymnasium on Riverside Avenue in Sanford. Hours are 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.  There will be raffles for a cord of wood, a garnet necklace, whitewater rafting, an armoire, a night at the Cliff House, an autographed Adam McQuaid puck, and more!

October 28

St. James the Greater Church, Baileyville
The St. James Ladies Sodality Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 28, in the hall of St. James the Greater Church, 15 Hillside Street in Baileyville. The fair will include crafts, raffles, and food. There will be a luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. Proceeds will go towards youth scholarships, those in need, and the needs of the church.

October 29

November 3

St. Hyacinth Church Hall, Westbrook
The St. Anthony of Padua Christmas fair will be held Friday, November 3, 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 5, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Fish chowder will be served Friday evening. There will be a turkey dinner and live auction on Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m., and breakfast will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday.

St. Joseph Convent, Biddeford
The Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec will hold their annual Christmas Fair, on November 3, 4, and 5, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at St. Joseph Convent, 409 Pool St, Biddeford. Most items were handcrafted by the sisters. The fair benefits the sisters' missionary work.

November 4

Knights of Columbus Hall, Dexter
The Our Lady of the Snows Annual Christmas Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dexter.  The fair is a fundraiser to benefit Our Lady's Kitchen, the Warm Homes Fuel Assistance prgoram, and a once-a-month community meal in Dover-Foxcroft. The hall is located at 533 North Dexter Road in Dexter.

St. Bernard Church, Rockland
A Christmas fair will be held at St. Bernard Church, 150 Broadway in Rockland, on November 4, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair features Christmas decorations, toys, books, jewelry, sweets, raffles, white elephant items, and clothing.

St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brunswick
The St. Charles Snowflake Festival will be held November 4, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a coffee corner opening at 8 a.m. for early birds.  The fair will be held in the church hall at 132 McKeen Street in Brunswick.

St. Dominic Academy, Auburn
Get a jump on your holiday shopping while supporting local crafters and other vendors at the Saint Dominic Academy Holiday Festival on November 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school’s Auburn campus at 121 Gracelawn Road. This event boasts nearly 80 vendors and crafters offering a wide variety of handmade and commercial items such as wooden crafts, clothes, art, toys, jewelry, Christmas and home décor, and personal care items. There will also be a large raffle area, food and refreshments, games, face painting, a visit from Santa, and more! For more information, please contact Donna Cote at dcote@unum.com.

St. Joseph Maronite Church, Waterville
St. Joseph Maronite Church will hold a Christmas bazaar on Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The fair, which will be held in the church hall on Front Street in Waterville, will include arts & crafts, Lebanese delicacies, Christmas and fall items, baked goods, a white elephant table, and more.

St. Mary Church, Bath
The Bells of St. Mary’s Christmas Craft Fair & Café will be held Saturday, November 4, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The fair features local crafters, a large silent auction, Gramma’s attic, and a cookie walk.  The café will serve breakfast & lunch with fish chowder, chili, pizza, hot dogs and homemade pies.

St. Raphael Church, Kittery
Saint Raphael's "Fall into Winter Bazaar" will be held on Saturday, November 4., 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parish hall at 6 Whipple Road, Kittery.  The bazaar features themed baskets, handcrafted items, raffles, a nearly new sale, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, and lunch.

November 5

November 10

Maxwell-Gill Hall of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Sabattus
The Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair will be held Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maxwell-Gill Hall, 131 High St. in Sabattus. The fair features a themed gift basket raffle, which raises money for the parish, along with 19 tables of local crafters and vendors including Scentsy, Christmas ornaments, knitted items, hand-painted gifts, baked goods, and more.  Kids can take free photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be a lobster roll lunch.

St. Joseph Church, Biddeford
The Good Shepherd Parish Christmas Fair will be held November 10-12 at St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm St. in Biddeford.  Fair hours are Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair’s giant penny auction will include kayaks, a KitchenAid mixer, a large screen TV, and more.  There will also be books. crafts, baked goods, and a children’s area.  Enjoy haddock chowder on Friday evening, and pork pie, pizza, chili, and other treats throughout the fair.

November 11

Holy Family Church, Old Town
The Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord will hold a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St. in Old Town.

Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Sabattus
The Our Lady of the Rosary Christmas Craft Fair will be held Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maxwell-Gill Hall, 131 High St. in Sabattus. The fair features a themed gift basket raffle, which raises money for the parish, along with 19 tables of local crafters and vendors including Scentsy, Christmas ornaments, knitted items, hand-painted gifts, baked goods, and more.  Kids can take free photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be a lobster roll lunch.

Sacred Heart Church, Hallowell
The annual Sacred Heart Ladies Guild Christmas Fair will be held at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, 12 Summer St. in Hallowell, on Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature baked goods, candy & fudge, handmade crafts, Rada knives, a white elephant table, jewelry, and the Sacred Heart Café. This is one of two major fundraisers sponsored during the year by the Ladies Guild to raise money for charitable works.

St. David Church, Madawaska
Valley youth ministry will host a holiday crafts fair on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hall of St. David Church, 774 Main Street in Madawaska.  A meal of franks and beans will be served on Saturday and chicken stew on Sunday.. Come and support local crafters, as well as valley youth, who will be selling baked goods.

St. Joseph Church, Biddeford

St. Louis Church, Portland
A Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Louis Church, 279 Danforth Street in Portland. The fair includes knitted and crocheted items, jewelry, arts & crafts, woodcrafts, homemade candies and baked goods, Polish foods, Christmas tree decorations, a “Polish” raffle, Val’s corner and much more. 

St. Martha Church, Kennebunk
The 21st annual Holy Spirit Parish Fair will be held at St. Martha Church, 34 Portland Road (Route One) in Kennebunk on Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair is a seacoast destination event featuring more than 20,000 items. There will be a $1,000 raffle and a giant penny auction. Tables include jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, Christmas items, linens, dishes, crystal, homemade candy and baked goods. Saint Martha’s Knights of Columbus will also offer sandwiches and refreshments.

St. Peter Church, Portland
St. Peter’s Sacred Heart Sodality invites you to its Buon Natale Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 11, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Monsignor Dimingo Hall next to St. Peter Church on Federal St. in Portland. The fair features Italian cookies, crafts, jewelry, and more!

St. Pius X Church, Portland
Our Lady of Hope Parish Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 11, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Pius X Church Hall, 492 Ocean Ave. in Portland. The fair includes books, jewelry, crafts, a white elephant table, children's activities, raffles, and baked goods. Plus, enjoy homemade lobster rolls, lobster stew, meatball sandwiches, and hot dogs.

November 12

St. David Church, Madawaska
Valley youth ministry will host a holiday crafts fair on Saturday, November 11, and  Sunday, November 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hall of St. David Church, 774 Main Street in Madawaska.  Beans and franks will be served on Saturday and chicken stew on Sunday. Come and support local crafters, as well as valley youth, who will be selling baked goods.

November 18

Holy Savior Parish, Rumford
Holy Savior Parish will hold a Christmas fair on Saturday, November 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature crafts, knitted items, baked goods, Attic Treasures, and more.

Notre Dame Church, Waterville
The St. Theresa Guild of Corpus Christi Parish Christmas fair will be held Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 19, 9 a.m. to noon in the hall of Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver Street in Waterville.  The fair will feature crafts, homemade baked goods, and carry-out dinners.

St. Anne Church, Gorham
The Home for the Holiday Christmas Fair will be held November 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at St. Anne Church, 299 Main St. in Gorham. The fair features raffles, arts & crafts, jewelry, knitted items, Gramma’s Attic, wreaths and greens, candy, baked goods, and more!  From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a silent auction, children’s shopping, and a children’s game room.  And from 5 to 6 p.m., enjoy a dinner featuring pulled pork, hot dogs, and beans.

St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Norway
The St. Catherine's Sodality will hold its annual Christmas craft fair at St. Catherine of Sienna Church hall, 32 Paris Street in Norway, on November 18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will include baked goods, a raffle, a white elephant room, and more.

St. Christopher Church, York
St. Christopher's Holiday Faire will be held in the St. Christopher Church hall, 4 Barrell Lane in York, on Saturday, November 18, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The fair includes a silent auction, live auction, made in Maine items, and many great gift ideas. Chowder and lobster rolls will be available for lunch.

St. Joseph Church, Brewer
The St. Paul the Apostle Parish Christmas Fair will be held Saturday, November 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 531 North Main St. in Brewer.  There will be Christmas wreaths, crafts, fudge, baked goods, Christmas decorations, children’s toys, white elephant rooms, basket raffles and more!  A lunch of homemade chicken pie and hot fudge brownie sundaes will be served.  FMI: 207.217.6740.

St. Louis Church, Limestone
A holiday craft fair sponsored by the Ladies of St. Anne will be held at St. Louis Church, 100 Main Street in Limestone, on Saturday, November 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Michael School, Augusta
The St. Michael School Parent Association will hold its annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium at 56 Sewall Street. The fair will include handmade crafts, baked goods, and more.

St. Patrick Church, Newcastle
The Shamrocks of Saint Patrick Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Cheverus Hall, 380 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle.

St. Philip Church, Auburn
The annual Christmas by the Lake Fair will be held on Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, November 19, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at St. Philip Church, 2365 Turner Road in Auburn. The fair features handmade wreaths, wood crafts, baked goods, a beautiful quilt made by parishioners, and more!  Lunch is also available.

St. Rose of Lima Church, Jay
A Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the St. Rose of Lima Church hall, located across the street from the church on 1 Church Street.

November 19

Notre Dame Church Hall, Waterville
The St. Theresa Guild of Corpus Christi Parish Christmas fair will be held Saturday, November 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 19, 9 a.m. to noon in the hall of Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver Street in Waterville.  The fair will feature crafts, homemade baked goods, and carry-out dinners.

November 26

Noble Middle School, Berwick
Our Lady of the Angels Penny Sale Fair will be held Sunday, November 26, at Noble Middle School, 46 Cranberry Meadow Rd., Berwick. Tickets will be sold from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The auction & drawings start at 3:30 p.m. The fair features more than 200 penny sale drawings, raffles, themed baskets, a live auction, and food and beverages including homemade chowder, sandwiches, and desserts.

December 1

Holy Cross School, South Portland
A Christmas fair and lobster luncheon will be held at Holy Cross School, 436 Broadway in South Portland, on Friday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

December 2

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Windham
Our Lady of Perpetual Help will hold a Christmas fair on Saturday, December 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, December 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will be held in the church hall at 919 Roosevelt Trail in Windham.

Our Lady of Ransom Church, Mechanic Falls
The Ladies Guild of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish will hold its annual Christmas Craft Fair at Our Lady of Ransom Church, 117 Elm Street in Mechanic Falls, on December 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sacred Heart Church, Yarmouth
A Christmas fair will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main Street in Yarmouth, on Saturday, December 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will include Christmas greenery, baked goods, Christmas decor, art, jewelry, a silent auction and a kids corner. Proceeds from the fair will go towards restoring the bell tower at Sacred Heart Church.

St. Ann Church, Bradley
A Christmas fair will be held at St. Ann Church, 84 Main St. in Bradley, on Saturday, December 2, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

December 3

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Windham
Our Lady of Perpetual Help will hold a Christmas fair on Saturday, December 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, December 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will be held in the church hall at 919 Roosevelt Trail in Windham.
